For The Tomlinson House near Pluscarden the brief was to build a modern sustainable home from straw bale. Our client, a family of 4, needed functional living space with substantial ancillary buildings to support various commercial ventures, but a priority was to incorporate their strong commitment to sustainable living.

The house, built on an exposed site, had a tight budget, requiring practicality and economy in every aspect of the design, without compromising on quality or living space. We used 3D imaging to help draw up the plans for a sustainable home that blends environmental efficiency with strong design character, to create a comfortable space the family can grow into and adapt in the years to come.
