Hero Investments of Jersey commissioned 1 Architects to produce a master plan for the disused BARMAC oil fabrication yard near Inverness, with the intention of developing a new port for Inverness with associated logistics, industrial park, and business park.

The site was ultimately sold to another bidder who intended to create a new town on the site, but that proposal has now been dropped, and the current plans are similar to the original concept created by Hero Investments and 1 Architects.
