At Achnagairn the rural estate spanned some 50 acres. Scattered around the grounds there were many disused buildings left to languish, along with the original mansion, which although battered and faded, still retained much of its former glory.
Our task was to find an economic rationale for reviving the estate and usher it forward to a new phase of growth. Most importantly, we needed to retain the strong architectural character and rural feel of the place. Our master-planning work led eventually to the main house being developed as an upmarket wedding venue, and subsequently to the development of luxury lodges within the grounds to supplement this activity.
