A wonderful site on the shores of Loch Ness near Invermoriston, and we hope to assist the Samye Ling Centre in turning this into a wonderful retreat. Was until earlier this year a Youth Hostel so the building is very well-suited in terms of compliance. Watch this space.
1 Architects have obtained Detailed Planning Consent for a new restaurant and equipment shed at Covesea Links. The restaurant is based on a modular building from Log Homes Scotland, selected by the client and not designed by us, but it’s very interesting and we’re happy to be working with it.
We’re now working on Building Warrant with a view to building this out in early 2016.
1 Architects have bought Seapark House and Estate in Kinloss, Moray, complete with rambling mansion house, Victorian courtyard buildings comprising clocktower and stables, 4 acres of woodland zoned for housing, and a massive walled garden that no-one appears to have entered in years. So much to get our teeth into.
Phase 1 consists of 6 large house plots in the woodland area, and that has now been submitted for Outline Planning Consent. Purchasers will be able to produce detailed house designs using either 1 Architects, or other consultants of their choice.
Phase 2 will see the main house divided into 2 large townhouses, each with its own front entrance and private gardens.
Phase 3 will be a largely commercial mixed-use development of studios, workshops, and retail, but with some related residential perhaps in the form of live/work units. Already there are a number of units in the courtyard under offer or sold, and the expectation is that within a few months all of the courtyard will have been sold.
Phase 4 will have 2 large detached house plots set in the walled garden.
